Imprisoned in Sing Sing for a crime he didn’t commit, Divine G finds meaning in a theater group with other male inmates in this story of resilience, humanity and the transformative power of art. At the beginning of the film, the actors are rehearsing different parts of the play.

The blades are designed by Bryce Dessner

The group is criticized for not doing comedy, but their previous play was A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which is a comedy. Late Night with Seth Meyers Starring: Anna Faris/ Coleman Domingo/ Jose Medellez (2024).

Great movie all around

It strikes the right tone and pace between harsh reality and human potential for good. There is very little to improve on this movie.

Everything seen in the movie is done well

The script, filmmaking and acting support the story very well. The only reason I didn’t rate it a 10 is because I don’t have direct experience with prisons and can’t vouch for their accuracy about life in them.
