Genevieve lives as a shy and neurotic book editor, avoiding her colleagues and trying to become the next ghostwriter for her publisher’s best-selling crime novel series. But no one, not even her therapist, knows that Genevieve is secretly struggling with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). While her life at home and in society is a constant struggle to avoid any stress that might trigger her dissociation, the series and its casual depiction of DID begin to disturb Genevieve as she is overcome by flashbacks of memories she had no part in creating. Worried about how dangerous she and her character Stevie might be, she uncovers clues to the horrors they may have been a part of. As she draws dangerously close to the secrets of her past, Genevieve finds herself in terrifying hallucinations as her trauma and the answer to the question she has always been afraid to ask: What happened to Genevieve?
